Role in the formula

Orange Pekoe gives the drink its black tea body, amber colour and brisk tea character beneath the masala flavour. Orange Pekoe describes a tea grade; it does not mean orange fruit flavour. The label declares 10% Orange Pekoe in the powder.

Ingredient science

Black tea polyphenols

Black and green tea both come from Camellia sinensis. Processing changes their polyphenol profile: black tea contains theaflavins and thearubigins formed during oxidation. Hodgson and Croft’s review discusses tea flavonoids and cardiovascular research. It is useful background on the ingredient, but includes different types of tea and different study designs.

Tea, attention and caffeine

Einöther and Martens reviewed studies of tea consumption, attention and mood. Hindmarch and colleagues compared tea, coffee and water across a day, examining alertness and sleep. These studies concern particular beverages and caffeine exposures. They do not establish the effect of the Orange Pekoe quantity in one scoop of NRGT.

Tea character in the blend

Orange Pekoe provides the darker tea layer alongside Green Tea. The label’s 10% is the ingredient proportion, not a declaration of theaflavin, thearubigin or polyphenol content. The separately declared caffeine amount for the finished drink is 40 mg per serving.

Green Tea

Not declared

Fresh tea leaves

Role in the formula

Green Tea extract adds a lighter tea layer alongside Orange Pekoe. The Masala label lists it without an individual percentage or milligram amount. The label does not declare separate EGCG or L-theanine amounts.

Ingredient science

Catechins and cognition

Baba and colleagues studied a specified green tea catechin intervention in middle-aged and older adults. That research asks a question about that formulation and population, rather than about any drink that contains green tea.

Metabolism and cardiovascular research

Venables and colleagues investigated green tea extract, fat oxidation and glucose tolerance in healthy humans. Hursel and colleagues pooled studies of catechin-rich teas and caffeine. Zamani and colleagues reviewed cardiovascular risk factors. The interventions, doses and outcomes vary across this literature; a change in a short-term laboratory measurement is not evidence that NRGT causes weight loss or treats a health condition.

Caffeine and L-theanine

Sohail and colleagues reviewed caffeine and L-theanine research. Although L-theanine occurs naturally in tea, NRGT does not declare its amount. Research on specified L-theanine–caffeine combinations cannot be used to describe this product as a proven combination or to promise a jitter-free response.

Caffeine

40 mg per serving

Caffeine crystals

A close view of caffeine crystals, shown for identification. This is not a sample from an NRGT batch.

Photo: TimausE · CC BY-SA 4.0 · cropped/resized

Role in the formula

The nutrition panel declares 40 mg caffeine per 1 g serving. The ingredient list separately names Caffeine Extract (3.82%). The finished-product caffeine declaration is the amount to count; do not add another estimated allowance for the tea extracts.

Ingredient science

What caffeine does

Caffeine is a stimulant. It can increase alertness, while sensitivity and the way the body processes it differ between people. The FDA’s consumer guidance explains that excessive caffeine can cause problems including sleep disruption, anxiety and a faster heart rate.

Your whole day matters

Tea, coffee, cola, energy drinks and some medicines or supplements can all contribute caffeine. A measured amount on a label helps you keep track, but does not guarantee a particular response or mean that more servings are better.

Pomegranate

25 mg per serving

Pomegranate fruit and arils

The pomegranate fruit. NRGT contains the declared pomegranate ingredient, rather than fresh fruit or juice.

Photo: Ivar Leidus · CC BY-SA 4.0 · cropped/resized

Role in the formula

Pomegranate (Punica granatum) adds a fruit-botanical layer to the tea formula. The ingredient declaration lists 2.5%, equivalent to 25 mg in a 1 g serving. This is a modest inclusion, not a serving of pomegranate juice or a high-dose extract supplement.

Ingredient science

Fruit polyphenols

Pomegranate is studied for compounds such as punicalagins and ellagic acid, alongside other polyphenols. Zarfeshany and colleagues review this background. The presence of an ingredient does not establish the amount of each compound in NRGT or a health outcome from one serving.

Exercise and blood-flow studies

Trexler and colleagues and Roelofs and colleagues studied specified pomegranate extract interventions in exercise settings. Their work considered measures such as blood flow and exercise performance. Those interventions are different from the 25 mg pomegranate inclusion in NRGT; they do not establish a performance or circulation claim for this drink.

Memory and cardiovascular research

Siddarth and colleagues studied daily pomegranate juice over 12 months in middle-aged and older adults. Other papers studied juice in coronary heart disease or carotid stenosis, or pooled blood-pressure studies. Juice volume, extract composition, population and duration all differ. Findings from these settings should not be transferred to a tea drink.

The published ingredient summary identifies ellagic acid as a marker used in available pomegranate quality documentation. A raw-material certificate does not establish the finished drink’s polyphenol dose or clinical efficacy.

The formula

What is DietXP NRGT?

NRGT Masala Tea is an instant tea-based drink mix from DietXP. Each 1 g serving contains 40 mg caffeine, with Orange Pekoe extract, green tea extract and pomegranate extract. Prepare it with hot or cold water for a masala-flavoured tea break.

What are the main ingredients?

Maltodextrin, Orange Pekoe Extract (10%), Nature Identical Flavouring Substance (Masala Tea), Green Tea Extract, Caffeine Extract (3.82%), Pomegranate (Punica Granatum) Extract (2.50%) & Acidity Regulator (INS 330), Colouring agent (INS 150d).

The science section explains each ingredient and shows the original packaging.

Where does the caffeine in NRGT come from?

The formula contains a dedicated caffeine extract alongside Orange Pekoe and green tea extracts, which can also contribute caffeine. The label lists Caffeine Extract at 3.82% and declares 40 mg total caffeine per 1 g serving. The extract percentage and total caffeine declaration describe different aspects of the formula.

How is NRGT different from similar tea mixes?

Masala Tea combines a tea-extract base with a declared 40 mg caffeine per serving and 0 g added sugar. Its masala flavour comes from nature-identical flavouring. You can compare the complete ingredient list and nutrition panel with other mixes; NRGT is available directly from DietXP without a distributor requirement.

Does NRGT contain added sugar, sucralose, or aspartame?

The label declares 0 g added sugar. Sucralose and aspartame are not listed. It does contain naturally occurring sugars, maltodextrin, nature-identical masala tea flavouring and colouring agent INS 150d. Zero added sugar does not mean carbohydrate-free.

Where can I check the FSSAI details?

The pack lists Zeon Lifesciences Ltd., FSSAI licence 10013062000225, as manufacturer, and NUTRISPACE, FSSAI licence 12725999000356, as marketer. You can view the original packaging in the science section. A licence is not evidence of a clinical effect.

Making your cup

How do I prepare NRGT?

Add one level scoop (approximately 1 g) to 160 ml of hot or cold water. Stir for about 10 seconds until dissolved. Follow the pack directions and do not consume more than 500 ml of prepared drink per day.

Can I prepare NRGT with cold water?

Yes. Use 160 ml of hot or cold water per approximately 1 g scoop. Stir until dissolved. Water is the preparation base stated on the label; milk is not required.

When is the best time to have NRGT?

Choose a time that suits your caffeine tolerance. Caffeine can affect sleep, including when consumed several hours before bedtime. A morning or earlier daytime cup may fit better than an evening one. Count caffeine from your other drinks too.

Can I have more than one serving a day?

The pack says not to consume more than 500 ml of prepared NRGT per day. At 1 g in 160 ml water, three servings make 480 ml and contain 120 mg caffeine. Keep to the label limit and consider all other caffeine you consume; a general caffeine guideline is not a recommendation to increase your NRGT intake.

Caffeine & suitability

How much caffeine does each serving contain?

One 1 g serving contains 40 mg caffeine. This is the total amount declared for the finished drink mix. Caffeine sensitivity varies, and tea or coffee strength can vary widely.

Who should not have NRGT?

The label says NRGT is not recommended for children, pregnant or lactating women, or people sensitive to caffeine. If you have a health condition or take medication that may be affected by caffeine, ask your doctor before use.

Is NRGT safe during pregnancy or breastfeeding?

NRGT is not recommended for pregnant or lactating women, as stated on the label. Follow your doctor’s guidance for caffeine during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Can I have NRGT if I am sensitive to caffeine?

NRGT contains 40 mg caffeine per serving and is not recommended for people sensitive to caffeine. If caffeine gives you palpitations, jitteriness or sleep problems, avoid this product and discuss suitable alternatives with your doctor.

Is NRGT suitable for people managing blood sugar or diabetes?

NRGT Masala Tea has 0 g added sugar, but contains maltodextrin and 0.81 g carbohydrate per serving. Zero added sugar does not mean carbohydrate-free or suitable for everyone. If you have diabetes, discuss it with your doctor or treating nutrition professional.

Is NRGT vegan?

The pack carries a vegetarian mark, but not vegan certification. The origins of the flavouring and all processing inputs are not fully specified on the label. If vegan suitability matters to you, contact support@dietxp.com for confirmation before purchasing.

Does NRGT contain gluten?

The pack states that NRGT is manufactured in a facility that also processes wheat, soy, oats and nuts. It does not carry a gluten-free certification. If you have coeliac disease or a food allergy, do not assume it is suitable; ask your treating professional and the manufacturer for product-specific information.

Caring for your jar

How should I store NRGT?

Keep the jar tightly closed in a cool, dry place, away from moisture and direct sunlight. Use a dry scoop and keep out of reach of children.

What is the shelf life of NRGT?

Check the Use By date printed on your jar. Once opened, consume within 30 days, as stated on the packaging, and always before the Use By date. Replace the lid tightly after each use.

NRGT is a caffeinated food product, not a medicine. Not recommended for children, pregnant or lactating women, or persons sensitive to caffeine.
