Before you book

Is type 2 diabetes support right for you?

It suits you if

  • A doctor has diagnosed your type 2 diabetes and you are 18 or older
  • You want to keep rice, roti and family meals, cooked with food from shops near you
  • You take tablets or insulin and want meals that fit your care team’s advice
  • You want help planning fasts, festivals and eating out

Speak to your doctor first if

  • You have type 1 diabetes or diabetes in pregnancy: this needs your specialist team
  • You often have low sugar readings, or very high readings
  • You feel very thirsty, pass a lot of urine or lose weight without trying
  • You want to reduce or stop medicines: only your doctor should change them

DietXP helps with food. Diagnosis, tests and medicines stay with your doctor.

Indian food stays in the picture

Make familiar meals work for you.

Having type 2 diabetes does not mean every familiar food is off the table. The amount, combination and timing of food can all matter. We help you think through your usual meals while keeping your clinician’s targets, medicines and monitoring advice in view.

Vegetarian or non-vegetarian, quick weekday meals or family cooking: the starting point is your life, wherever you live.

Type 2 diabetes support: your questions answered

Do I have to stop eating rice or roti?

Not automatically. Portions, meal combinations and your individual care plan matter. Your DietXP expert and your treating team can help you work through what is appropriate for you.

Which country page should I use?

Use the page for the country where the person having the consultation or programme lives. It shows the options, the fee and the local details for that country.

What can I book in India and in other countries?

In India, one online consultation with a written food plan within 2 working days and a short explanation call. In other countries, a 3-month Core programme with 3 follow-ups, or a 6-month Extended programme with 6 follow-ups, priority WhatsApp support and progress reviews at 90 and 180 days.

When will I get my written plan?

Within 2 working days of your first consultation, in India and in every other country.

How do I pay?

After we confirm your booking in writing, we send the payment details on WhatsApp or by email. Fees are in rupees in India and in local currency in other countries.

Which languages can I use?

English, Kannada, Tamil or Telugu, with Chandan. If you would prefer Hindi, tell us when you message us and we will tell you the options.

Can I reduce or stop diabetes medicines?

Only your prescribing clinician should change medicines. Do not reduce or stop them because you start a nutrition programme or see a different glucose reading.

Is fasting or a very low-carbohydrate diet required?

No. Major changes to meals or fasting can affect glucose and may be unsafe with insulin or some medicines. Discuss them with your treating team before making changes.

Is this suitable for type 1 or pregnancy diabetes?

No. This programme is for adults with type 2 diabetes. Type 1 diabetes and diabetes in pregnancy need support from the appropriate specialist team.

Can my family join?

Yes. The person who cooks or helps with meals is welcome on your calls, including family members in India. If you are contacting us for someone else, please let them know. We ask for their agreement before we discuss their health.

Your doctor stays in charge

Keep following your clinician’s glucose-monitoring and low-glucose plan. Seek urgent local help for severe symptoms. We do not change medicines or manage glucose emergencies, and we do not claim to reverse or cure diabetes.
