Three separate choices

Joining is one step. Every session is your choice.

Each choice stands on its own. Saying No to one session never takes you out of the group.

  1. Join the group

Sign up once with your name and email, then confirm your email. You will get group emails only.

    Free
  2. Attend a session

For each session we email an invitation. Press Yes to take a place or No to skip this one. You stay in the group either way.

    Free
  3. Ask for one-to-one care

Only if you want it. Individual nutrition or emotional support is a separate service with its own fee. The group never depends on it.

    Optional

How it works

From joining to your first session, in five steps

The steps play by themselves. Use Back and Next to go at your own pace.

  1. Step 1

    Join once

Fill in the short form on this page: the name you would like us to use and your email. No account, no password, no medical reports.

  2. Step 2

    Confirm your email

We send you an email. Open it and press Confirm. Then a welcome email tells you what happens next.

  3. Step 3

    Get an invitation

When a session is arranged, we email you its topic, date, time, who it is for and who is hosting. Sessions are announced one at a time.

  4. Step 4

    Choose Yes or No

Press Yes to take a place, or No if you cannot come this time. A page opens so you can check your answer before you confirm it, and you can change it later.

  5. Step 5

    Join the call

After a Yes, we email your private joining link and a reminder. Take part your way: talk, type a question, or simply listen with your camera off.

What you can expect

A calm, guided conversation

  • A guided conversation

The hosts welcome everyone, keep time and make sure each person who wants to speak gets space.

  • Shared experiences

Hear from others who understand what diagnosis, treatment and life afterwards can feel like.

  • Practical topics

Food and appetite, feelings, body changes, appointments, family and everyday questions to take to your care team.

  • Your choice, every time

Speak, type or just listen. Keep your camera off if you prefer and step away whenever you need to.

Inside a session

What an hour together could look like

A planned outline. The hosts may adjust it for each group, and you can leave or take a break at any time.

  1. Minutes 0 to 5

    Welcome

The hosts say hello, explain their roles and remind everyone of the privacy guidelines.

  2. Minutes 5 to 15

    Introductions, or quiet listening

Say a few words about yourself if you like, or just say hello in the chat. Listening is fine.

  3. Minutes 15 to 25

    A short practical topic

One host shares a short topic, for example eating when appetite is low, or coping with waiting for results.

  4. Minutes 25 to 50

    Open discussion and questions

The longest part. Members share and ask questions while the hosts guide the conversation and keep it kind and respectful.

  5. Minutes 50 to 60

    Takeaways and close

A few general points to remember and a chance to suggest topics for next time. Feedback is always optional.

Who can join

Who the group is for

People living with or after breast cancer

Adults aged 18 or over living in India who are newly diagnosed, in treatment, living with metastatic breast cancer or adjusting after treatment. People of every gender are welcome.

Caregivers and family

Adult family members and caregivers can sign up too. They are invited to the sessions marked for caregivers, so patient sessions stay a space for patients.

What the group is not

It is not medical care, a personal diet plan or an emergency service. Questions about your own treatment belong with your treating team.

Group guidelines

How we look after each other

Every member agrees to these when they join.

  • Share only what you feel comfortable sharing. You may listen without speaking.
  • Respect other people's experiences and give everyone space to talk.
  • Do not record, take screenshots, use automatic note-taking tools or share another member's story.
  • Speak from your own experience. Changes to treatment or medicines belong with your treating team.
  • No selling and no private messages to members who have not asked for them.

We do not record the sessions. We take privacy seriously and ask every member to do the same, but we cannot control what other people do.

Questions

Questions people ask

Is the support group free?

Yes. The group is free to join and free to attend. You do not need to buy anything or book a paid consultation.

Who can join?

Adults aged 18 or over in India who are living with or after breast cancer: newly diagnosed, in treatment, living with metastatic breast cancer or adjusting after treatment. People of every gender are welcome. Family members and caregivers can sign up too and are invited to the sessions marked for caregivers.

Can I join if I have stage 4 or metastatic breast cancer?

Yes. People living with metastatic (stage 4) breast cancer are welcome. You can share as much or as little as you like, and you can skip any session that does not suit how you feel that day.

Can I join while I am having chemotherapy or radiotherapy?

Yes. You can join before, during or after treatment. On days when you feel tired or unwell, simply say No to that session or leave early. You stay in the group either way.

Can men with breast cancer join?

Yes. Breast cancer can affect men too, and people of every gender are welcome in the group.

Can I join if I live outside India?

For now the group is for people living in India. If you live elsewhere, you can still message us on WhatsApp and we will tell you if this changes.

Do I have to speak or turn my camera on?

No. You can keep your camera off, listen without speaking and take a break or leave early whenever you need to.

Can I join from my phone?

Yes. The video call link in each invitation opens on a phone, tablet or computer. A quiet place and earphones help you hear and keep the conversation private.

Do I have to attend every session?

No. We email an invitation for each session and you choose Yes or No each time. Saying No to one session keeps you in the group for the next one, and you can change your answer later.

Can a family member join with me?

Each invitation says who the session is for: people with breast cancer, caregivers, or both. If you need someone beside you for support or to help with the call, tell us when you sign up and we will talk it through with you privately.

Will a doctor be there?

Some sessions may have a guest doctor or another specialist for a set topic. The invitation names a guest only after they have confirmed.

Will I get a personal diet plan or treatment advice?

No. The group offers support and general education. Questions about your own treatment or diet belong with your treating team. If you want one-to-one help from DietXP, that is a separate service with its own fee, and the group never depends on it.

How is the group different from one-to-one emotional support?

The group is free and shared: members support each other, guided by the hosts. One-to-one sessions with a psycho-oncologist are private, paid and planned around you. You can read about them on our emotional support page.

When is the next session?

We are preparing the first sessions now. Join the group and we will email you the topic, date, time (IST) and hosts as soon as a session is confirmed.

Are the sessions in Hindi?

When you join, tell us if you prefer English or Hindi. We use these preferences to plan sessions, and each invitation says which language that session will use.

Are the sessions recorded?

No. We do not record the group, and members are asked not to record, take screenshots or use automatic note-taking tools. We take privacy seriously and ask every member to do the same, but we cannot control what other people do, so share only what you are comfortable sharing.

What happens to my details?

We use your name and email only to run the group: to confirm your email, send invitations and manage your answers. We do not add you to product offers or newsletters and we do not share your details with other members. You can stop invitations, leave the group or ask us to delete your details at any time.

How do I stop the emails or leave the group?

Every email has a link to manage your membership. You can pause invitations, start them again or leave the group. Saying No to one session is different: it only changes that one session.

Is this a crisis service?

No. The group and our inbox are not watched around the clock. In an emergency in India call 112 or go to the nearest emergency department. Tele-MANAS on 14416 offers free mental health support by phone, 24 hours a day. For urgent questions about your treatment, contact your treating team.

The group is not an emergency service. In an emergency in India call 112. For free mental health support by phone, 24 hours a day, call Tele-MANAS on 14416. For urgent questions about your treatment, contact your treating team.
