Food your family actually cooks
Dal, roti, rice, regional cooking, festival food and the way a joint family eats together. Your plan is built from that, not from a diet sheet you would have to translate first.
DietXP Onco Care
Practical Indian-food support during cancer treatment and recovery.
Adult nutrition education and practical Indian-food support, designed to work alongside your New Zealand oncology and registered dietetic care.
This programme supports the care you already receive. It does not replace your oncologist, your hospital team or a New Zealand registered dietitian.
Cancer treatment can change appetite, taste, swallowing, digestion and energy needs. General advice may conflict with the treating team’s instructions or may not reflect the food prepared at home.
DietXP helps adults apply nutrition advice to familiar Indian meals during treatment and recovery. The service is designed to complement the care already provided by the treating team.
Early nutrition screening and support can help identify malnutrition risk, maintain intake and function, and address nutrition-impact symptoms as treatment progresses. It complements, and does not replace, care from your New Zealand team.
Who we built this for
Hospital nutrition advice may not cover the Indian foods prepared in your household. DietXP helps apply goals set by the New Zealand team to familiar meals without changing clinical instructions.
Dal, roti, rice, regional cooking, festival food and the way a joint family eats together. Your plan is built from that, not from a diet sheet you would have to translate first.
Your oncologist, cancer nurse specialist and hospital dietetics team stay in charge of your care. DietXP helps apply their nutrition goals to familiar Indian foods and does not change the clinical plan.
Consultations are online and scheduled at a time that works where you live, so nobody is taking a call at 2am between treatment cycles.
DietXP operates from India and consultations are online. The service provides Indian-food education alongside the hospital team and New Zealand-registered dietitian. See how the roles are separated.
Nine stages is a lot to read when you are exhausted. Pick the one closest to your situation and we will take you to it.
A named nutrition specialist keeps your education notes consistent with the plan set by your licensed local team. DietXP does not diagnose, prescribe or change medical nutrition therapy.
Nutrition risk is worth identifying early, while there is still time to act on it before treatment starts.
Organise your intake, weight history, symptoms and questions to discuss with your licensed local dietitian and cancer team.
General Indian-food ideas help you apply the goals already set by your licensed team before chemotherapy, radiation or surgery.
Food education follows the pre-operative instructions and nutrition goals supplied by your surgical team; DietXP does not set them.
When needs change week to week and yesterday's plan may not work today.
Education notes can be updated after your licensed team changes its care plan; treatment and medical nutrition therapy stay with that team.
General food and fluid ideas within your local care plan. New, severe or worsening symptoms go directly to your cancer team.
DietXP can help organise household routines and questions after your licensed local team prescribes the plan. Formula, route, rate, equipment and clinical changes remain entirely with that team.
Symptoms we plan around
Treatment ending is not the same as being back to normal, and nutrition support does not stop here.
Food education after treatment follows the recovery goals and restrictions set by your licensed local team.
When care focuses on comfort
This section explains how the service changes when care is focused on comfort, so patients and caregivers can review the boundaries before contacting us.
DietXP can help families apply the comfort-focused food guidance set by the licensed palliative-care team; it does not make clinical feeding decisions.
Food and fluid support should follow comfort and the agreed care plan. Decisions about clinically assisted nutrition and hydration are made with the palliative-care and treating teams.
For questions about this support, contact us on WhatsApp. Clinical questions and urgent concerns should go to the treating or palliative-care team.
Easy-to-access notes that organise Indian-food ideas within the care plan set by your licensed team. They are not a diagnosis, prescription or medical nutrition therapy plan.
You and your caregivers can ask nutrition questions between consultations. Response hours and message limits are confirmed before payment; WhatsApp is not monitored as an emergency service.
Review the instructions from your licensed team, your current food routine and the questions you want to take back to them.
Translate the licensed team's goals into practical Indian-food ideas that fit preferences, culture, family and budget.
Update education notes after your licensed team changes its plan, with non-emergency WhatsApp support during stated hours.
Practical support for the patient’s food, treatment context and culture.
How you are matched
The match considers the adult patient’s treatment stage and the food questions already identified with the licensed local team. DietXP provides education only and does not assign a locally registered clinical practitioner.
Matched to your case
Your diagnosis, treatment stage, nutrition-impact symptoms and whether feeding support is involved all inform the match.
Oncology, not general nutrition
The match is made from our nutrition specialists with hospital oncology and oncology nutrition support experience.
A named nutrition specialist coordinates support
Continuity is the aim. If illness, leave or clinical fit requires cover to change, you are told and relevant context is handed over.
Hospital backgrounds represented across the team include Tata Memorial Cancer Hospital (Mumbai), Kasturba Hospital at MAHE Manipal, CMCH Ludhiana and Jigme Dorji Wangchuk National Referral Hospital (Bhutan), spanning oncology, paediatric oncology, enteral and parenteral nutrition and medical nutrition therapy. These backgrounds do not imply registration in the country where you live.
