Who you will talk to

A DietXP nutrition expert with hospital cancer care experience

We match you with the team member best placed for the diagnosis, treatment stage and any feeding support. The same person runs your consultation, writes your plan and takes your follow-ups. Cancer food support in Singapore

Cancer care and Indian food in Singapore

Your oncologist leads your treatment, and cancer centres such as the National Cancer Centre Singapore have dietitians who help with side effects such as nausea or weight loss. DietXP helps your family turn that advice into Indian meals at home.

Your cancer centre team

Ask your team about seeing the centre’s dietitian if eating is hard or you are losing weight. Bring their advice to us and we will help you apply it to Indian cooking.

Free support in Singapore

The Singapore Cancer Society helpline, 1800 727 3333, is open Monday to Friday, 9am to 5.30pm, with information, practical help and financial assistance schemes.

Indian food during treatment

Soft khichdi, dal, idli, curd rice and light soups often work well when appetite or taste changes. Tekka Centre and Little India have everything you need, and we plan around hawker meals too.

Practical details

  • Singapore is 2½ hours ahead of India, so sessions fit easily into your day.
  • Fees are in SGD and are the full amount you pay.
  • If you feel very unwell during treatment, call your cancer centre’s hotline, or 995 in an emergency.

Indian meals, wherever you live

Start with the food you know

Home-cooked Indian meals and eating out can both be part of daily life in Singapore. Tell us what you usually eat, and bring any food-safety or nutrition advice from your hospital team.

Follow your treating team's advice on food safety, textures and portions.

During and after treatment

Different stages, different food questions

You do not need to have everything worked out before you get in touch.

When you have just been diagnosed
There may be a lot of advice to take in. We can help you organise your food questions and understand the guidance your cancer-care team has given you.
Before treatment starts
Talk through your usual meals, who can help with cooking and the questions you want to ask your hospital dietitian.
During treatment
Tell us what has become difficult about shopping, cooking or eating. We discuss practical food questions within your team's advice. New or worsening symptoms should be reported to your treating team.
After treatment
Use your follow-up team's advice as the starting point. We can discuss familiar meals and everyday routines as you settle back into life at home.

Getting ready

What to have ready for the first consultation

You do not need to send reports before booking. We tell you how to share them before the consultation. If you are booking for a family member, please have their agreement first.

  • Your treatment plan and hospital reports, including your HealthHub records
  • Recent reports, such as blood tests and discharge summaries
  • Current weight, and any weight change in the last few months
  • Medicines, supplements and any feeding plan from the hospital
  • What the patient manages to eat and drink on a usual day

For family and caregivers

Helping someone you care about

You may be cooking for a spouse, helping a parent from abroad, or sharing meals with someone in treatment. With their consent, you can join the discussion and help turn food advice into a manageable routine at home.

  • Bring a note of their usual meals and food preferences.
  • Write down questions they want to ask.
  • Work out who can help with shopping and cooking.

Emotional support

Support for how you feel, not only what you eat

Worry, low mood and fear of the cancer coming back are common, for the person with cancer and for the family caring for them. DietXP’s psycho-oncologist, Fathimath Naeema Nasreen, offers online counselling and emotional support from India for adults with cancer and adult family caregivers living in Singapore, to help you cope.

Sessions are not a licensed healthcare service in Singapore, Naeema is not registered with any Singapore authority, and sessions support you alongside, not instead of, care from your cancer centre.

This is the full price in SGD: nothing is added when you pay, and any GST that applies is included. Payment goes to DietXP in India, so your bank may add a cross-border fee. Before you book, we confirm the session times, the payment terms and that sessions can go ahead where you live. The fee follows where the person having the sessions lives: for a family member who lives in India, the India fee applies.

Sessions are confidential and separate from your nutrition programme; only what you agree to share is passed on. This is not a crisis service. In Singapore, the Singapore Cancer Society helpline, 1800 727 3333, is open on weekdays (9am to 5.30pm, closed on public holidays), and your cancer centre can tell you about counselling where you are treated. For mental health support at any time, call national mindline 1771. In an emergency, call 995.

Your questions

Before you get in touch

How much do the programmes cost in Singapore?
Core (3 months) is SGD 460 and Extended (6 months) is SGD 874. These are the full prices, with nothing added when you pay.
What does each programme include?
Both start with a first consultation and a written food plan within 2 working days. Core adds 3 scheduled follow-ups and WhatsApp support during agreed hours. Extended adds 6 follow-ups, priority WhatsApp support, a nutrition progress assessment at 90 days, a full progress report at 180 days and a recovery nutrition roadmap where appropriate.
How do I pay?
After we confirm your booking in writing, we send the payment details on WhatsApp or by email. Payment goes to DietXP in India, so your bank may add a cross-border fee.
When will I get my written plan?
Within 2 working days of your first consultation. Your follow-ups, booked on Singapore time, then review how it is going and adjust the plan.
What time are the sessions?
Singapore is 2½ hours ahead of India, so sessions fit easily into your day. We book a time that suits you.
What happens when my programme ends?
You can finish there or ask about continuing. We explain the options and the fee before you book anything new.
Does this replace my oncologist or hospital dietitian?
No. DietXP provides nutrition education and help with everyday food questions. Your local cancer-care team continues to manage treatment, medical nutrition therapy, medicines and feeding prescriptions.
What if I need urgent medical help?
Contact your local treating team or emergency service. Do not wait for a reply from DietXP if you have urgent symptoms. Our enquiries and programmes are not emergency services.
Do I need to send medical reports?
Start with your country and contact details. If reports are needed, we'll explain how to share them privately before your appointment. Please do not send medical reports through a general enquiry form.
Which languages can I use?
Tell us your preferred language when you enquire. We'll confirm available languages and appointment times before you book.
Can a family member join?
Yes, with the adult patient's consent. A family member or caregiver can help explain usual meals, take notes and support shopping or cooking at home.
Where can I get free cancer support in Singapore?
Call the Singapore Cancer Society on 1800 727 3333, Monday to Friday. DietXP adds food help planned around Indian meals.
Can you plan meals around hawker food during treatment?
Yes, within your treating team’s food safety advice. Follow their advice closely if your immunity is low, and we will help you choose soft, well-cooked dishes.
Can I have sessions with DietXP’s psycho-oncologist from Singapore?
Yes, if you are an adult with cancer or an adult family caregiver. Sessions are 45-minute online counselling sessions by video or phone with Fathimath Naeema Nasreen, who works from India. They offer emotional support to help you cope; they are not a licensed healthcare service in Singapore, do not replace care from your cancer centre and are not a crisis service. For support now, call the Singapore Cancer Society on 1800 727 3333 on weekdays or national mindline 1771 at any time. In an emergency, call 995.
