Is a PCOS programme right for you?

It suits you if

  • Your GP or specialist has diagnosed your PCOS (PMOS) and you are 18 or older
  • You want regular Indian meals for busy weeks, made with food from Australian supermarkets and Indian grocers
  • You want food support for energy, cravings or weight, without strict bans
  • You take medicines or are under fertility care and want your meals to fit that plan

See your GP first if

  • You have not been diagnosed yet: irregular periods, acne or extra hair growth need a doctor’s check first
  • Your periods have stopped or changed suddenly
  • You are pregnant or planning a pregnancy: your doctor’s plan comes first

DietXP helps with food. Diagnosis, tests and medicines stay with your GP and specialists.

PCOS care in Australia

PCOS and PMOS care in Australia

The international PCOS guideline and the May 2026 rename to PMOS were led from Monash University in Melbourne, which also offers the AskPMOS app (formerly AskPCOS). Jean Hailes for Women’s Health publishes information on PMOS in 15 languages, including Hindi, Punjabi and Tamil.

Alongside your GP and Medicare

In Australia your GP diagnoses and manages the condition and can prepare a chronic condition management plan. Since July 2025 that plan can give you up to five Medicare-subsidised allied health visits a year, which can include an Accredited Practising Dietitian. DietXP is a private service from India and is not claimable on Medicare. Please let your GP know that you are using DietXP.

Indian food in Australia

Indian groceries are easy to find in suburbs such as Harris Park in Sydney and Dandenong in Melbourne, and India is now one of the most common countries of birth in Australia. We plan around local produce, packed lunches and weekend barbecues.

Practical details

  • Sydney and Melbourne are 4½ hours ahead of India, or 5½ hours in daylight saving time. Perth is 2½ hours ahead.
  • Fees are in AUD and are the full amount you pay.

Meals that fit your week

We plan breakfasts, lunches and family dinners with Indian food you enjoy and local produce, focusing on regular meals, fibre and protein rather than strict bans.

Nutrition education and practical food support. Diagnosis, medicines and medical treatment stay with your treating team.

PCOS support in Australia: your questions answered

Is there one best diet for PCOS?

No single diet composition has been shown to be best for everyone with PCOS. A sustainable approach should reflect your preferences, health needs and circumstances.

How much do the PCOS programmes cost in Australia?

Core (3 months) is AUD 506 and Extended (6 months) is AUD 962. These are the full prices, with nothing added when you pay.

What does each programme include?

Both start with a first consultation and a written food plan within 2 working days. Core adds 3 scheduled follow-ups and WhatsApp support during agreed hours. Extended adds 6 follow-ups, priority WhatsApp support, a nutrition progress assessment at 90 days and a full progress report at 180 days.

How do I pay?

After we confirm your booking in writing, we send the payment details on WhatsApp or by email. You pay the fee in AUD; payment goes to DietXP in India, so your bank may add a cross-border fee.

When will I get my written plan?

Within 2 working days of your first consultation. Your follow-ups, booked on Australian time, then review how it is going and adjust the plan.

Which languages can I use?

English, Hindi or Kannada, with Maria. Tell us which you prefer when you message us.

What time are the sessions?

Sydney and Melbourne are 4½ hours ahead of India, or 5½ hours in daylight saving time. Perth is 2½ hours ahead. We book a time that suits you.

Will this programme focus only on weight loss?

No. Your goals should be discussed with you. Health-supporting habits matter even without weight loss, and conversations about weight should be respectful and only part of a wider picture.

Can food support replace medicines or fertility care?

No. Decisions about medicines, menstrual symptoms and fertility treatment belong with your treating clinician. Nutrition support can complement, not replace, that care.

Will I need to avoid rice, dairy or gluten?

These foods are not automatically excluded because you have PCOS. We consider your preferences and any confirmed allergies, intolerances or other medical advice before discussing changes.

Is PCOS now called PMOS?

Yes. In May 2026 an international consensus published in The Lancet renamed polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) as polyendocrine metabolic ovarian syndrome (PMOS), because the condition affects hormones and metabolism, not just the ovaries, and does not involve harmful cysts. Health services are switching over gradually, so you will see both names for a while. It does not change the food support we offer.

Can I also see a dietitian through Medicare?

Your GP can include an Accredited Practising Dietitian in a chronic condition management plan if you are eligible. DietXP is private and can sit alongside that, with a focus on Indian meals.

Can I claim this on Medicare?

No. DietXP is a private online service from India. Your GP can include visits with an Accredited Practising Dietitian in a chronic condition management plan, and you can use DietXP alongside that.

Can my family join?

Yes. The person who cooks or helps with meals is welcome on your calls, whether they live in Australia or in India. If you are contacting us for someone else, please let them know. We ask for their agreement before we discuss their health.

What happens when my programme ends?

You can finish there or ask about continuing. We explain the options and the fee before you book anything new.
